What is Parasailing
Parasailing lets you enjoy a dramatic view of the sea and the beaches. A long rope is attached to the parasail harness at one end and to the boat at the other. The parasailor is in a harness. When the boat is ready and the towline is taut, he takes a couple of steps and is lifted up into the air, with the parasail lifting behind him. There are harnesses that allow people to parasail in tandem. In winch-boat parasailing, the parasailor takes off and lands on a winch boat. In beach parasailing, the parasailor is launched from the beach. Parasailing is an exhilarating adventure that you are sure to remember for ever. However, you need to know that parasailing can result in serious injury if not done the right way. You need proper training and reliable equipment before attempting this activity.

Goa is the parasailing hot spot in India. Miramar, Calangute, Candolim, Sinquerim, Mobor, Arossim and Cansaulim in Goa are the beaches where you could go parasailing. Just make sure the weather is pleasant and the seas are not choppy before you get ready to soar.

What you need to know
You can soar on your own or in a group. Before taking up parasailing, ensure that you are physically fit. Choose your operator very carefully because poor instructions and the inability to communicate with the operator can prove to be very dangerous. There is no common international regulatory authority that governs and regulates the sport. Each country has its own state bodies with their own rules and regulations.

What you must carry
If you are a beginner, then there's no need to splurge on expensive and heavy equipment. The tow boat, tow rope, parasail, lifejacket and wetsuits are all provided by the tour operator as part of the overall package.
